I can see a new topic appearing in the forum
"Cnc Laser Rapid Prototype building"

I Dont know much about it or the details of it, but it is a very ingenious techneque of making a prototype model.

The concept involves fireing a Ultra-violet laser into a liquid resin pool. The resin hardens when hit by UV light.
The laser buids up layer upon layer of hardened resin to make the item desired. The laser is moved by a X Y setup similar to what we do here.
I still dont understand what stop the laser shining too far into the resin but I gather it is done by slowly raising the pool for each step.
I would be intereseted if any one has any thing to add to this in the way of links or text.
This piece was made using this process. A mould is then made out of the item to mass produce it
