I picked out this spindle on Amazon - any thoughts?

I am new to CNC and ordered a 3'x5' CNC mechanics from CNC router parts. I'm putting together everything else to include electronics, spindle, driver motors etc. I expect it will be an education.

I'm looking at this spindle as an example:

Just wanting to do some hobby stuff. I really like the idea of water cooled because it will be quieter. I suppose 2.2kw will be enough but I really don't know. I don't plan on using it daily but more just for hobby stuff. Would like to get something I won't need to upgrade for a different project here in a couple years. Would like to get myself a spindle which will last for a long time but I don't need commercial reliability.

Is there a different product or product line I should consider?

I will probably go with the Masso CNC controller.

Appreciate the perspectives of anyone and any perspectives as I am quite new to this.

I bought a 100mm mount when I purchased the mechanical parts at CNC router parts but I think most of these are 80mm. I guess I was thinking 100mm would allow room for growth. I have heard there is some sort of sleeve out there that can be used.

I read the similar posts. Very good. Glad the forum has that feature.

There's not a lot of difference between all of the various chinese spindles.
Since they are so cheap, quality control can be a bit hit or miss. So there's really no way to know if you'll get one that will last 5 years, or 6 months.

Cutting noise is often much louder than any spindle noise, and air cooled are nearly as quiet as water cooled.

100mm brackets are for 3Kw spindles.

    Thank you Gerry!
    Really?
So you don't think a water cooled spindle will be any noticeably quieter than Dewalt or Bosch "box store" router? (maybe thats not what you meant)

What would be the advantage of a hobby person (even an intense hobby person) going with a spindle vs. box store router?

No, I meant a water cooled chinese spindle isn't a lot quieter than an air cooled spindle.
Both are considerably quieter than a handheld router.
The advantage are more power, and much longer life.
