110v to220v step up transformer for US 220v cnc router?

I have a cnc router thats requires 220v single phase for its power box....power box has a 220v output for the 220v 2A router and a 110v output for the controller

i was told by the transformer manuf that transformers will not work with US 220v products...only will work on foreign 220v products.

is this true or just Liability BS

Partly correct but NA 240v single phase output is no different where ever you live, there is some different configurations of the wiring but that is all

The Transformers would need to be sized correct and it's wiring is different from USA wiring it will have ( 1 ) Hot live and Neutral Ground, US supply you have ( 2 ) Hot Live wires and a Ground both are equal and do the same job

You can buy these Transformers you are talking about on Amazon and a lot of Hobby guys us them

I would wager that most of those are SMPS, not a typical linear version.

I doubt that 5A will be enough for your whole machine you need the total Amps for your machine, is it using a VFD Drive for the spindle motor then if the spindle motor is 5A then you need double that plus a safety factor normally the average small machine need a minimum of a 20A supply

    Your link is incorrect

Appears to be a bum link.
Maybe the Manuf comment/concern was due to the products system earth ground being re-referenced to one side of the 220v secondary, which is normal.
But even if this was the reason, it should not normally matter in a N.A. 220v device.
If the OEM is in China then may be take this with a grain of salt!
    An internal inspection would confirm.
