    kiaturn15 AL-60 alarm???!!!!

    I have a kia turn-15 with fanuc oi-t controller.
The machine was crashed yesterday and started with a z axis torque alarm. I got that freed but now have an al-60 index turret power off alarm.
The procedure im following was written down by my father and is not working.

    1. change parameter 0011 to 00000001
    2 turn off and on
    3.set k5 bit to 1
    4. push select, feed hold, and spindle stop.
    5. turn turret by hand till arrows match up.
    6. push call/bz off
    7. set k5 bit to 0
8 push spindle stop, select, and feed hold
    9. change para 0011 back to original
    10. power off and on

this is not working and im not sure what to do right now

I think you are on the right track for re-teaching the turret, but I think there may be something else going on based on your alarm. Is the drive unit actually powered on? You may have either a tripped circuit breaker or else may need to power down, wait a few minutes and reboot after the caps discharge to allow the drive to reset. Ill attach a procedure for the reteach, but I think you basically have it right.

    Best regards,
Experience is what you get just after you needed it.

    Best regards,
how do you tell if the driver unit is powered on?
I checked the back of the machine and there are only 4 breakers which none of them are tripped.
im currently waiting for the capacitors to discharge to see if the works

Based on your description you may have a turret encoder starting to go bad so it’s something to watch or inspect.

You should have indicator lights or led numerical displays on your drive units that show status. It’s a good idea to take a picture now that it’s running right to document what they should look like. That way when something happens you can compare and see if anything has changed.

Glad to hear you’re back in business!

    parameter 11 is your problem

    10000001

bit 7 must be 1 as well. it is for the absolute encoder. in case it is 0 you will get problems. sometimes it happens when the battery is deployed.

    this procedure is correct
