good day,
my need is to configure Kflop/JP6/IO26-35 as output. Anyone know how much current each pin can drive?
thanks

Hi geppo_it,
KFLOP IO can source/sink 16ma. But the first 8 of 10 IO on JP6 (and JP4) have 150ohm pull down termination resistors which uses most of the source current. So IO 34 and 35 can source/sink 16ma and the rest can sink 16ma but only source ~1ma.

Hi Tom,
how can I use IO 26-33 then? Do I need a buffer to drive an optocoupler?
tks
Hi geppo_it,
What are the specs on the optocoupler? You might connect the Optocoupler + series resistor to 3.3V and have KFLOP sink to GND to turn it on. When the KFLOP output goes high it should go to at least 2.4V which means the optocoupler should see 3.3V - 2.4V = 0.9V and should turn off.

Tom,
do you mean a connection as in the attached figure?
Hi geppo_it,
Correct. But by the way internal to KFLOP there is another transitor that will sink to ground when the output is driven low.

thanks Tom,
as always you are helpful. I haven't chosen the optocoupler yet ... any advice?
I forgot... i want drive a 24Vcc mini relay (Omron G2RV series)
I think the G2RV says it requires 13ma which would be hard to find an opto to drive that directly.
Our Konnect uses a LTV-847S with a transistor follower:
(the resistor would not be needed in your case)
