Thank you guys but today the link worked and I don’t know why.

An amazing machine...., I have seen similar machines of that era and I’m always amazed how these genius built these machines with no Internet to get required info / materials and the limited amount of available tools. Even today with all the tools etc. we have available it will be impossible to build something similar, let alone to design it!!!

Thank you Al for the link

Re: Do you Understand this Circuit?

    Hi,
came across a similar circuit in a customers automotive clock a few days ago.

It has two con-centric coaxial coils operating on a disc with a small magnet attached to the periphery. The circuit uses one coil to sense the magnet sweeping
past and using a simple two transistor circuit applied a current pulse to the other coil to reinforce the disc motion. The disc has a hairspring and hence made an
oscillator operating a regular clock escapement.

I was able to repair it and it seemed to work fine.
