A few weeks ago i purchase a Fanuc Drill Tape mate from a local school. They said it was pulled because they upgraded. I didnt get to see it under power and told it was sitting for months The electrican came today and hooked it up and I got several alarms. This is my first cnc mill, any help would be grealy appreciated. I plan on ordering the manual for it this week
    Thanks

Inital alarms I pressed reset which came to the image below

I attepmpted to jog the axis, none of the moved but I heard some buzzing then turned the machine on and off

and got this I tried hitting reset then cycling the power and reseting to no available any help would be great. I prefer not to call the cnc repair man at $150+ an hour unless I need to

I think you are about the third person today posting the same problem, the Batteries for the encoders need replacing and referencing.
Do you have any manuals for the machine, Maintenance manual for e.g.?
If you want them send me a P.M, with email add and I can send them in PDF

I replaced the batteries. which cleared most of the the alarms but Im still getting the X Y Z axis need ZRN. I tried power cycling the machine while holding down the letter P and CAN and the same alarms show up. Im sure this an operator error issue but any more help would be great. I did manage to jog all the axis and center the table

You need to follow the instructions in the manuals I sent as to setting dogless zero return.
Untill This is carried out all you will get is these alarms.
I am assuming you do not have the home limits and dogs?

I read page 175-180 in the manual for setting the limits and I dont understand where to even begin because I dont see any step by step guide. I guess Im just going to call a service tech because its beyond me

If anyone in the dayton ohio area would like to help me I will gladly pay them

    Matt,

Hi, my name is Greg and I have a similar machine, we losted the information on our machine due to the backup battery came down, is it possible that you could send us the parameters and diagnostics of your macine for us to restart our machine?

    Thank you in advance.

    GPena,
I doubt your going to get anything from Howitt. His last post here was over a year ago.
