    The basics

Where can I go to start learning about LinuxCNC? I have been around cnc and plc stuff for 10 years, but have never looked into this. Any help pointing a newbie on the right direction would be great.

I second the advice to download the distro and play around with it.A cheap BOB and a basic stepper might be useful too. There is a forum at https://forum.linuxcnc.org/ . They know a lot about it.

I've tried to install latest LinuxCNC on x86 confuzer, and received a message that 32 bit platform is unsupported
So, x86 is a NoGo, unless you install a bit older version.

Unless you have very old x86 CPU, 64 bit is supported

(the comparatively ancient Core Duo is 64 bit)
