I am looking to build two 4 foot by 8 foot cnc plasma cutters. I previously build a same size cnc wood router table using two 2692mm or 105.0 inch x 1 inch lead screws. Also a 10 mm lead. The load was about 200 lbs. I am able to get to about 100 ipm on the Y axis (long axis) but not much more without significant vibration. The plasma cnc will need at least 300 ipm travel speeds.
Looking for suggestions as I have been looking at changing to driven ball screw nuts instead of direct driven lead screw previously used. I noticed I should probably consider a lead screw with a longer lead dimension.
Do you think these speeds are achievable with such a long lead screw or should I be looking at rack and pinion.

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.
