Hi, first post and not sure what subforum would be the best place for this question but I've been having trouble removing material from a very fine engraving on HDPE using an onsrud osai M-series cnc router.

Had to upscale the geometry to fit our 1/8" bit in which clears material out perfectly then an engraving tool to finish what it couldn't reach, cuts the profiles and serifs but pretty much wherever the engraving bit cuts it leaves almost stringy material still connected that you have to clean out by hand/scraping it out. Using a LMT Onsrud engraving bit with a 0.005" tip, 17,000 spindle speed, 64 down and cut feed we're engraving areas as small as 0.02" wide and I'm not sure if this can be fixed by programming it differently, getting a slightly larger engraving bit or if it is just something that happens with such fine work on HDPE.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
