    Okuma OSP U10L 2286-13 Alarm B Plus variable limit over Z-Axis 2

    Hi Guys,

I'm new to turning, and finding my way around our Okuma lathe with U10L control.

I have worked out most of the kinks in the post between fusion and OSP, but this one has me stumped.

    "2286-13 Alarm B Plus variable limit over Z-Axis 2"

When i look this alarm up, i can see up to 8 possible causes, but this specifies number 13?

It is happening in the code below, on line N171
This is the retraction line before a tool change from threading to cut-off.

Anyone able to help me out here?
I checked my tool Z- zero offset and its fine.

hy try N171 X200. Z200. T000300, in order to cancel active offset; thus, when using T folowed by 6 digits, replace last 2 digits with zero's, then retreat to home position

give it a go, it should work

    Code:
    (THREAD2)
    N161 M1
    N162 T030303
    N163 M8
    N164 G95

removing extra N***, and adding a single one for restart purpose
        M41 - M42; i doubt you can reach 1k in 1st gear :)
whenever possible, avoid lines with single G or M codes, like M1 M8 M9 G95, etc
check if your control supports Z5 instead of Z5.; maybe there is a parameter ...
M33 may be better than 32

it looks like you never went back into a G00 mode after your threading cycle. Put that in and you should run fine. I'd also suggest you use an M203 on your rapid to limit lines so the turret unclamps on the way home. Using the T command along with the XZ positions will allow the turret to clamp as it rapids to the part. These simple changes should be good for several seconds off of your cycle.

    Best regards,
Experience is what you get just after you needed it.

Hello, my name is Rocky Weber an I am a senior engineering student in high school in Ohio. For my capstone project, I am planning to convert a 3d printer in a desktop router. If you have time to take a quick, easy 10 question survey I would greatly appreciate it.
