    Simple Laser Question

    TO EXPERIENCED LASER USERS ...

I want to be able to cut 1/4” plywood, I.e., luan, regular thin plywood, etc. I assume it would have to be a CO2, but what WATT laser would I need. I would prefer doing it in 2 passes, 3 at most. Understand speed and power % are contributing factors.

    Thank you in advance.

    Re: Simple Laser Question

Plywood is difficult to cut. I’d say something above 60. Difficulty may vary from batch to batch. Definitely harder with more plys.
Unless you don’t care about burning on the sides I wouldn’t plan for multiple passes. Also consider the increased time it takes.
