Variable frequency 110V line 110v motor????

Is there such a thing as a VFD for 110v single phase line to a 110V single phase motor.
Want to be able to vary the speed of a 110V band say, how to do that electronically, if possible, was hoping a VFD would do that.
If it’s possible please show the wiring connections.
    Thanks

Technically it's possible to make a 120V single phase VFD and run a normal motor, but the application is not practical. Such devices exist, but they really don't work very well, are expensive, and have very limited application.

    The better options are:

A 120V single phase input VFD and a 3 phase 240V motor up to about 1/2 HP.

A 240 single phase input VFD and a 240V 3 phase motor up to about 5 HP

A brushed DC motor and controller

A Brushless DC Motor and controller.

Many of the 1ph VFD controllers lost favoritism due to a tendency to drop out of run at low speed and/or loaded.
Hence the more popular 1ph input VFD to 3phase motor as Jim refers to.
Have you checked the type of motor you have?
One other motor that is commonly 1ph AC is the brushed Universal motor used in many appliances.
This can easily be controlled by a triac controller on AC as well as run on DC.
I converted mine using a now obsolete Universal motor controller once used in treadmills with a Universal motor.

No there is not a VFD Drive to do that, a 120v single phase VFD Drives that will output 120v 3Phase , so your motor would have to be 120v 3phase motor which there are some Chinese motors that do this but this is not the norm

You could use a variac voltage control, where you can adjust the voltage, but this is not ideal but would work, the other way is to use belts and different size pulleys if you want to keep the same motor

!ph VFD's for 120v 1ph motors exist, Panasonic makes one, for one, but they are not popular due to the quirks outlined in #3.
So it is a crap shoot if it will work for you.

The Panasonic drive ( MGSDA1 ) they call it a VFD I think it is just a voltage speed control with a max of 1A

There are several manufactures that make a 120v single phase VFD Drive but all are 3 Phase output
