5 volt proximity sensor connection to USS?

I ordered a pair of proximity switches that function on 5 VDC. I have the USS powered with an external 5vdc power supply.

The prox sensor looks pretty standard with 3 wires. brown is V+ blue v- and black output signal.

I connected the brown wire to 5v on the BOB, blue to GND and black wire to pin 15.

The led on the sensor comes on when I move a piece of metal near it but I get no indication of it working in the diagnostics screen in Mach 3.

I have it enabled in the input pins window.

    What am I missing here?
    Is a sentance fragment?

Check your ports and pins input screen and change the input from hi to low or visa versa that should do it. If not then using a volt meter check the BOB to make sure no broken wire.

Are the switches PNP or NPN?

If you disconnect the switch and short the input to the GND with a piece of wire, does the input state change (in the diagnostic screen)?

I ended up purchasing a opto isolated relay board and fixed it that way.
