After a re-build of my 3 axis mill (Mach 3, USB Smoothstepper) I'm having a weird problem when referencing each axis to it's homing switch.

I'm in the Diagnostics screen and when I hit the reference x button is slowly creeps to the sensor and stops as it should upon contact.
Next, I refence Y. Not only is the Y axis moving but now the X starts drifting away from it's home sensor as well simultaneously.

I've never had these kinds of problems in the past.

All three axis work fine commanded from the keyboard or pendant.

Any ideas?

You have EMI noise in your system check Grounding and shield Grounding USB cables can be a problem also if the are not shielded

I've completely rebuild and rewired the control box and removed all AC voltage from inside the box. Only thing in this steel box is 3 gecko 201 drives, Smooth Stepper V 1.2 , Smooth stepper breakout boardC25 V 2.1, 12 VDC relay board for the proxy sensors.

Running the machine with pendant removed, Z tool setter removed, and the spindle completely unplugged. Replaced power supply. Still having the same problems.

This machine used to run on Mach 2/Win 2000 and had no issues.

I'm still having issues with uncommanded movement from bot the x and y axis when referencing home in the diagnostic screen or on the main screen when hitting the "reference all home" button.

I don't think this is an issue with noise anymore.

Any ideas?

Contact Warp 9 and ask them. The Smoothstepper handles the homing.
