Ok to cut manually via jogging (without G-code)

    Hey all -

I need to clean up the edges of some 4x8 melamine and I am wondering if there is any reason I could not just run a 1/4 or 1/2" compression bit along the edge to do the job as opposed to creating something in VCarve?

For that matter, what if I wanted to rip a sheet of plywood in half?

Also trying to avoid buying a track saw...

Certainly! I do it all the time with both wood and aluminum.
