    ST-10, Restricting Turret

    Hi All,

We just got a new to us 2012 ST-10. I'll be running some jobs that will require a small (.030) drilled hole in the end of a shaft.

I want to use a pneumatic drill spindle mounted in a tool holder to get up around 15,000 RPM. Obviously this will have some air lines running to it that will prevent me from indexing the turret more than 1 or 2 tools in either direction. My program will only use 3 tools so that's fine, and my parameter is set to index to the next tool via shortest path so the program should run okay.

But what I'd like to do is restrict the turret to only those 3 tools under all circumstances. Mistakenly indexing one station too far when doing a setup could spell disaster. Is there a way to restrict the turret via parameter to just the stations I choose?

    Thanks,
    Tom B.

    Re: ST-10, Restricting Turret

I plumbed air into the coolant supply line after the ball valve and use the spare M code relays to wire in a solenoid valve. So when I want to use air, I close the ball valve so it doesn't back feed air into the coolant tank, and runs air through the turret like coolant normally would using M51/M61. Downside is, if you need to use coolant at the same time, its one or the other.
