Is there a way to generate CL code in Solidcam

    Hi all,

We are using solidcam and NX together in our machine shop. We have a millturn center. I have a custom made postprocessor for NX and want to use the same postprocessor for solidcam. If I can generate CL code in Solidcam, then the problem will be solved. Is there a way to generate CL code in Solidcam?

    Thank you...

I believe that there is post processor for SolidCAM that outputs text format APT. In a different life, what seems like a hundred years ago, I used to program in UniGraphics and then CATIA and both of them had the option to output cutter paths as either binary CL or text APT. I used a post processor created with G-POST from ICAM and that could take CL data in either binary or APT. This may be the way to achieve your goal.

Your SolidCAM reseller should be able to get you the APT post

    Hey Guys,
Sorry for reviving a VERY old thread but I have a friend in need of a post for SolidCAM to output to APT or some type of CL data file. Any one out there can share a post or point me in the right direction?
    Thanks!

SolidCAM have own format instead CL code. Postprocessor have two files GPP and VMID.

Hello Danpil. I've done some research and have found out that much. I did also read that their was, at one time, a post (GPP/VMID fiels), that would output CL code. Do you have any experience with that? I have a machine that needs CL code for a specific application. We used to use Surfcam years ago but apparently something happened to the license. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I don't think this is a good idea. Because there are drilling cycles, zero transfer cycles CYCLE 800 and other nuances. Can you share full CL code file?

Only need it for 3D Surfaces. Only X,Y,X AND I,J,K moves. See below for an example.
