Okuma control backup OSP200/300 vs LU300

    Hi All,

I am wondering the differences in a complete control backup between the OSP200/300 and LU300.
I have done backups on neither of these but have 1 of each coming into our shop and would like to gwt them saved. Any help on what i would need? I see a memory card on the front of the OSP200/300, so can i get everything fron that?

How about the LU300? I see no PCMCIA slot..

    Thanks,

New machines coming with all set of manuals. Backup procedures are described there in details. You take care preserving installation and backup media safely.

What manual would have these procedures in them? Operations manual, maintenance manual, instruction manual?
These machines are not coming with manuals the customer does not have them believe it or not.

Yes i agree there should be CDs or manuals or something. But the customer does not have them. We will be doing mechanical work but i would like to do complete backups while they are at our shop.
If you/anybody have some procedural manuals would really help.

The situation is rather dangerous for the service side. My practice suggests a solution. Sign the document with the client, pointing clearly that backup of control system is clients concern. At this very moment all the manuals and set of installation media pop ups suddenly out of nowhere, you will see. Sometimes they just take the manuals and other documents apart and later are lazy to find it.
On the other hand, in many cases after mechanic work was done relevant parameters should be updated. Some mechanics say, that they assembled the unit exactly back where it was initially and show me the marks on the metal saying "you see - it is back at the same place". The assembly according marks doesn't work for Okuma, however. It is normal to adjust location related parameters after mechanic assembly.
