Hi all.
I'm in the process of wiring up the electrical cabinet on my cnc mill conversion and have got as far as the E-stop.
My question is simple but needs to be explained to make sense.

I have 5vdc from the ESS for the software e-stop.
I have 24vac from the contactor coils for hardware e-stop.
I have a double pole e-stop switch which works great with the 5vdc on one pole and the 24vac on the other. It successfully works at shutting down both hardware and software using the separated test wires.

Now the time has come to put it together and I want to locate the run and e-stop buttons at the front of the machine using about 2m (6ft) of 5 core cable. 2 of the cores will be used for 5vdc and an input pin of the ESS. The remaining 3 cores will be used for the 24vac back to the contactors.

My question is. Is the 24vac likely to induce higher voltages in the 5vdc and input wires of the ESS control board?

Cheers,
J
