    CNC USB Controller slave issue

Good morning all, I just started building a cnc router and ran into an issue with my software , using CNC USB Controller v. 2.10.1204.201, I can't figure out how to set a slave on my Y axis, I can create 3 axis with a forth slave but that doesn't work. I have a UCNCV4 controller FMD2740C drivers(4) and 4 23HS2430B stepper motors. In the initial stage so not installed on the machine yet.

    Any help would be great.

    I think you should set axis 1 - X, axis 2 - Y, axis 3 - Y and axis 4 - Z in settings axes.

HI, thank you for the reply. I tried but I cannot add the same letter in different axis.

I had 4 axis machine hocked to that old controller and because I needed all 4 axis, I simply split the Y wires from controller to two drivers and worked fine for me.

That can be a solution but I wouldn't be able to make any micro adjustments if the gantry wasn't track square. I curious to know if the issue is the controller card or the software? Can I use another software with this card?

If you want to use the slave axis then I think you should set number of axis to 3 and then the 4`th axis as slave.

Just as I say in setting -> axes
set on top Number of axes to 3
    then 1 to X
    2 to Y
    3 to Z
and at 4 set slave 2 because axis 2 is your Y

OMG I read again your first post and you use UCNCV4 controller.
I think you can not use planetCNC software with other controllers, only planetCNC controllers.

Re: CNC USB Controller slave issue

I tried but when I go to settings, axes1 tab I have it set to 3 axis and all the rest of the axis and function rows are greyed out so I cannot add the A axis as slave.

I do thank you for your replies.

Oh, that is what came with my package, cnc usb controller software. I can control the axis with the software but cannot set a slave. Is there another software I can use? Thanks again.

Stavmanxyz, I am also starting the process of setting up a UCNCV4 controller in my DIY cnc kit. I am in the wiring-up stage and I have some questions. maybe we can help each other.

You realize that UCNCV4 is Chinese clone of our Mk1 controller?
And that software included is pirated version from 2012?
