The pocket position on our VMX42 is slightly out of time,
so if it were to flip down it would contact the metal guide on the side.
We had an ATC crash where the cylindrical guide on a pocket got stuck
and ended up destroying something like 4-5 pockets
before the estop was smashed and it stopped.

Now I can't figure out how to push the ATC chain back into time.

I loosened the four bolts on the motor so that the gears would unmesh
and then used a prybar on the drive gear to cycle it slightly forward and put it back into time
but after tightening it all down again and having the machine cycle the ATC
it goes right back to where it was before, slightly out of time.

I called Hurco support and the tech I talked to (Aldo) had never seen the issue before
and had no idea how to resolve it.

I can't otherwise seem to find any sensors that tell the machine when things are in position.
There are two sensors near the drive gear by the motor,
but those do not seem to affect where the chain ends up
and are otherwise just involved with tracking whether or not there has been motion (I believe).

Any insight into retiming the ATC chain? I have not even attempted to do an automatic tool change since the crash
as I do not expect it to work correctly until the pocket is aligned in the slot.
