Hi friends. I tried these 2 cutters. Maybe you have experience with them.
Hi friends. I tried these 2 cutters. Maybe you have experience with them.
My experience with Kennametal has always been that they have the very best turning inserts in the world. They are still working on milling.
Sandvik, to me has the best milling cutters out there right now. They are very expensive.
A better solution is to go with Iscar. A bit cheaper, and very well made. They have a high feed mill out right now that is just blowing everything else away.

I also have good experience with Iscar. I did a similar test on my youtube channel. Iscar vs Pramet
I've had the luxury of working in a very large machine shop for over 20 years.
Management understands the need for good tooling.
We are constantly testing tools against one another.
They set it so a tool has to perform 10-15% better than what we use now to justify a change.
If we do change, that vendor gets a year of us buying from them exclusively for that particular tool.
Once the year is up, other vendors can come in and test against it again.
When Iscar brought that new high feed mill in for testing, it blew away everything. And not by just a little bit.
I haven't seen anything do that much better for a very long time.
