    maximum feed rate - sinumerik 840D control

    is there a parameter i can change to set the maximum feed rate accepted by the control?

    need to cut a thread with a 6" lead......

    I don't think that you can increase the max. feed rate of your machine by just changing a machine parameter. That rather would require more powerfull drives.
    Why do you think that the max velocity of your machine has been reduced unnecessarily during initial setting up?
