AL-4824-120-FLX - 120W CO2 - Controller Retrofit and Laser repair ?
Hello guys,
Recently got a 120W CO2 laser, 48"x24" laser machine won in an industrial auction.
Attachment 467300
Attachment 467302
Attachment 467304
It's using PARKER drivers, GALIL DMC-2152 5 axis motion controller and FlexLaser software
from Assembly Automation Alternatives Inc.
The mechanical aspect is pretty good and well made but the software is a bit basic and
I can't do picture engraving (only lines).
I was able to do some cutting and engraving but since yesterday it seems the laser die...
The laser is a sealed 120W CO2, model Rofin OEM 10iX 10.6 LP.
Attachment 467298
Attachment 467308
Recently the laser is doing one of those two things:
- Stays OFF (not turning ON/not cutting nor engraving) during a program and flashing yellow LED on the unit
- Stays ON, seems to be at full power, all the time even when program not running but not showing any error on the indicator light
According to the laser manual when flashing yellow it specified VSWR Error (no modulation pulse applied since power up)
If anyone have any idea what can I verify, check or what could be the source of the problem ?
If I can't repair the laser, I have the idea of retrofitting with a new motion controller and maybe switching to a cheap CO2 standard tube...
However, I would like to:
- keep being able to use the camera for using it with references alignment points
- using the Z axis table
- adding a rotary axis system for tube-cylindrical part
It seems LightBurn software looks nice to work it, I contacted them and they suggested me Ruida controller since over 40W.
What do you think ?
