how to run Yaskawa 3 phase 200V servo using 1 phase 200V?

    as above,
am i able to use a external capacitor and leg it up to the 3rd power input L3?

    Thanks

What is the specific model number you are looking at? SOME of the servos they make can be ran with 1ph power.

From what I see, you SHOULD be able to run it single phase. You MIGHT have to derate the drive. Looks like a 750w drive, 200v 1/3 ph. Do you have a drive you can hook up on a bench? This is to make sure it's not going to give you a fault for a missing phase.

Hi thanks for the fast response, after hooking up with a 1 phase 240v , I got an AF1 error, which refer to a missing phase.

How do I derate the driver to allow 1 phase usage?

    Thanks

On that drive, it is apparently not possible to run on single phase. The error is telling you there is a missing phase. The derating only applies if your drive will accept 1ph. If it WOULD accept 1ph, derating refers to using a 1kw drive on a 500-750w motor. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

    Thanks, for the advise.
Is there anyway to run the drive ; using a external capacitor will it work; or VFD?

Any Yaskawa 3Ph Drive can run on Single Phase you just have to wire it correct some of us are experienced some just pretend to know

There would not be a Derating if the Servo Drive is larger than the Motor so a 1Kw would work well up to 750W motor no derating needed

If the Drive has the same rating as the motor then you would have to derate it

I have heard of that, but currently i am not able to the ways to wire the driver to allow 1ph usage.
My application is mainly for my automation system.

If you go to where your other post is you will find how to run it on Single Phase Post 31

Yes, he can run it from an inverter, but I thought he was looking to run it straight off the line.

He does not need an inverter and inverters are bad for Servo drives if will give them a much shorter life than normal

As I said he has it running on Single Phase there is no need for a RPC
