    Question Confused work offset

Well after using using my home built machine for years, I now find my self a little confused
My X axis home setup is Soft max =310 soft min = -310 Home off = 310
So if I issue G53 X0 this places the X Axis dead center of its limits
    If I then enter G54 G92 X0 I would have assumed the G54 X offset would read either 0 or -310
but it actually reads -358 there are no tool offsets and the tool number is set to 0.

Maybe I have early dementia setting in.
Can somebody shed some light on this thanks

Not sure how G92 works, but Mach3 manual suggests this command for setting work offsets:

    G10 L2 P1 X0 ;set G54 offset to X=0

    Re: Confused work offset

    P. S. I tried the G92 command as well, and it worked as expected for me. Not sure why it didn't work for you. It's considered obsolete anyway, so I personally would avoid using G92 if possible.
