    How do I stop it ?

    My configuration is dm556 + ebay pwm controller. I am trying to get away without microcontroler for my project.
    The question is : is it awailable to incorporate micro switch stop in this configuration that would stop motion when pressed and automatically continues when released.

    One option would be to cut power for controller . But may be there is more elegant solution ?

    That would work fine.

    You would only need to connect the switch to the enable input.

    Are you sure you want to use a PWM controller? Normal for a stepper drive would be a stepper speed controller some of these also have an enable input that you could connect to your switch.
    An example, not a recommendation: https://www.ebay.com/itm/38375049481...4AAOSwZVlXqa9~

    Yes I am using one like that. But they used " PWM" in naming , so did I.

    So I need to interupt ENABLE line between controller and driver to stop motion ?

    I think if you connect the Enable + to the Enable - on the drive, it will disable the drive. Yes, a micro switch will work fine. The current is very low.

    Or, there may be an enable on the controller that you can connect to. I would need to see the exact controller to know if that will work.

    EN=ENA=FREE Enable
    PUL=PULS=CLK Pulse
    DIR=CW=CWW Direction

    Common anode Connection method (B)

    EN+ PUL+ DIR+ connect together to com+.
    EN- connect EN
    PUL- connect CLK
    DIR- connect DIR

    Common cathode Connection method (B)
    EN- PUL- DIR- connect together to com-.
    EN+ connect EN
    PUL+ connect CLK
    DIR+ connect DIR

    There is the connection for the micro switch.

    I think that might work. Try it and confirm. You won't damage anything by wiring it that way even if it does not work in that configuration.

    My pleasure. It will work some way, but most likely your drawing will work.

    Most of these drives will have the output enabled ( working ) when the EN is not active.
    If you connect the -EN to Gnd and the +EN to +5V the drive will most probably be disabled ( you can easy rotate it by hand )
