Trying to compile Grbl esp-32 Barton Dring and failing

Hi, hopefully someone will be able to help me out here. I've tried on the Espressif forums and had no luck, similarly on GitHub.
I came across this site :https://embeddedtronicsblog.wordpres...10/esp32-grbl/
and followed the instructions explicitly - couldn't get it to compile.

I tried similar tutorials on Youtube and a common factor seems to be the need for the file 'FreeRTOS.h".

I tracked down the code for FreeRTOS.h, or so I thought, pasted it into a Notepad++ document and placed it in the same directory as I2SOut.cpp which appeared to be the villain of the piece.

    Still no joy.

I'm using a Wemos D1 R32 with a cnc shield v3, and by all accounts the Arduino IDE sees this board as an Esp32Dev.

I'm not in the first flush of youth but not totally daft and this has me baffled.

If someone can help me with this it would be wonderful, in fact if someone could provide a Hex file I could just flash the board with that would be like Christmas!

Thanks for your patience, regards, Redeemed.

Have you tried the grbl_esp32 wiki?

Hi Kirk, fancy you not being on the Sainsmart FB group ;-)

It turns out if you use VScode and PlatformIO it compiles like a charm!
