Re: MC4VAE 2561 RS232C ready interrupt time out error

I managed to copy the files from the mc4vae floppy drive, I had non-working floppy disks, or changed the floppy disks and now it works,
while the connection through the 232 cable still does not work, I have opened the plugs of the cable and the connections are as in the hole, are they connected well?

    Have You tried simply PIP ----> >R CN0: ----> press Write (or PIP ----> >R ----> press WRITE )?

thanks kurmay, my cable is the same as the pdf "RS232C_Setup", the number 1 was missing in db9 and i added it, but it doesn't work, i should build myself another cable like pdf "okuma osp5000".
i think i will take this path, thanks

Could You please share Your machine Optional Parameter (word) and (bit) screens? It could be parameter related trouble.
From list of errors: 2561 RS232C ready interrupt time out means the interrupt ready and interruption have not been occured within a specified lenght of time with the DNC equipped with the DC code specification.

Guntisk is spot on...your cable appears to now be correct, but unless the parameters are set correctly, it will output fine and still not upload. XON and XOFF must be working or it will fault going into the Okuma every time. Your jumper 4-5 is forcing you to use "DC code control" which it appears it is not using. Other settings matter as well for communication. 9600, Even, 7bits, 2 stop bits is what I typically use.

Another important tip is that after you change your com settings and back them up, be sure to power off the machine including the breaker for about 2 minutes to let the com board properly reset and take in the new settings. If you are using the 5020 control as I suspect based on your pics, you may not have the backup key and will need to wait about 1.5 minutes before shutting down for all parameters to backup. If you watch the BC= as it cycles, it is a backup counter and as long as it makes a loop back to where it started after the parameter change, it will be backed up.
Experience is what you get just after you needed it.

I finally solved it by changing the parameters and inserting in the program the sign of:%

    Optional Parameter Bit #1 - 0000 1011
1.0 (Auto parity check: yes) 1 my is 1
    1.1 (ISO code: yes) 1 my is1
1.2 (Tape vertical check: no) 0 my is 0
    1.3 (Delimiter %) 1 my is 0
1.4 (Verify at read: no) 0 my is 0
1.5 (Special code read: no) 0 my is 0
1.6 (Special code alarm: no) 0 my is 1
1.7 (Special code ignored: no 0 my is 0

    Program start: %
    Program end: %

Congatulations. You see- usually problem could be solved just by changing bits. Somehow forgot about asking for special signs presence at the program start and end, but they are essential.
