    HY02D223B VFD with 2.2KW Watercooled Spindle GDZ-80-2.2A Spindle - External Controls

    Hi There I'm hoping someone could assist. I thought i had everything set correctly but maybe someone could point out what i am missing:

    Current Setup
    In North America and using 220V

    Grbl 1.1 Controller PWM outputs 0-5V $30=24000 (max spindle speed) $31=0 (min spindle speed)
    VFD is HY02D223B 3HP 220V
    Spindle is Water Cooled GDZ-80-2.2A Spindle 4 bearings, 2 Pole

    Dryer Outlet - L1 Hot connected to VFD Terminal R L2 Hot Connected to VFD Terminal T, Earth to GND on VFD
    Spindle pin 1 connected to VFD Terminal U, Spindle pin 2, connected to VFD Terminal V, Spindle pin 3 connected to VFD Terminal W, Spindle Pin 4 Connected to VFD GND
    The spindle does have pin 4 connected to Spindle body, (opened spindle to visually check) and tested continuity between pin 4 and body as well as body to VFD GND

    Using VFD cable between spindle and VFD https://www.wireandcableyourway.com/16-3c-w-ground-shielded-vfd-cable

    These are the settings i have for the VFD for external controls
    J1 Jumper Shorted 1-2 for VI

    PD001=1
    PD002=1
    PD003=400
    PD004=400
    PD005=400
    PD006=2.5
    PD007=0.5
    PD008=220
    PD009=15
    PD010=8
    PD011=0
    PD014=5
    PD015=5
    PD024=1
    PD044=2
    PD070=1
    PD072=400
    PD073=0
    PD141=220
    PD142=9
    PD143=2
    PD144=3000

    on GRBL controller i have GND connected to VFD ACM and PWM connected to VFD VI

    Setting Grbl controller
    Starting up i get 0V across ACM and VI on VFD, then I issue a M3S10000 and i can measure 2.17V across ACM and VI, issuing an M5 voltage drops to 0V
    I press the run button and the spindle does not spin up (i have also tried shorting DCM and FOR just for testing purposes) same result.

    Then i try setting the VFD in Operator mode

    J1 Jumper Shorting 2-3 VR
    PD001=0
    PD002=1
    PD070=1

    The pot on the VFD control panel doesn't work, but using the up down arrows to set the speed does work. I can also verify the the VFD does spin up if i set PD011=120 and PD073=120 the spindle turns on, runs clockwise (viewing from the top) and starts up and goes to 7200RPM when i press the run button. so the VFD appears to be working on manual control, the Spindle appears to run correctly, in the right direction, but i cant seem to get manual controls to work.

    I have tried resetting the VFD by setting PD013=08, it does reset the settings and putting in all the settings again but still no luck on external controls.

    Would appreciate any ideas or tips on where i could have gone wrong, or if i have misconfigured anything, or if i just received a faulty VFD.

    Parameters look good. Verify that the jumper itself is actually good. Sounds like neither J1,J2 or J3 are shorted.'
