    Taig 4029 CNC Lathe

    Hi,

Does anyone here have experience with the Taig 4029 CNC ready lathe (ball-screw, 5C chuck)? Have been thinking about purchasing one but have not found any actual review of the lathe.

    Thanks,
    Robert

    Re: Taig 4029 CNC Lathe

I went to their website, and it is confusing. The description of the 3019 cnc ready lathe says -

"Full Blown CNC Lathe with 1/2-20 Leadscrews, ER16 Headstock and DSLS closed loop control system for faster feeds. Includes 1/4 hp spindle motor, 5C spindle, 2 adjustable Tool Posts, chip guard, motors, control box, Digital Index Signal Processor for threading, Emergency off switch, spindle On-Off control module and Mach 3 software"

So does it have a er16 spindle or a 5c spindle?

Also the description of the 3029cr cnc ready describes it with 1/2-20 leadscrews and 1225 ballscrews? Does it have both leadscrews and ballscrews? I think they are just simple mistakes. Otherwise, they look pretty nice. Especially with the 5C headstock, you can do quite a lot with that for $1700, just add some steppers and a copy of mach3 and your in business.. The 5C headstock is $599, not a bad deal either.

I'd like to hear from someone that has one too. Let us know if you get one.

    Re: Taig 4029 CNC Lathe

Here is my take on the different CNC ready models:

3019CR - ER Chuck and leadscrews
    3029CR - 5C Chuck and leadscrews
4019CR - ER Chuck and ballscrews
    4029CR - 5C Chuck and ballscrews

You need to add to all of the above motors, drives, control system, spindle encoder etc to make a complete system.

I also noticed a few errors in the website descriptions.
