    Okuma twin spindle - Synchronization - G140 G141 M110

    Hi and sorry for my english

    I use a Multus U3000 and i have a question

    I have to move one part from the first spindle to the second spindle

    Of course, work all, synchronization are ok if i use M210 M151 M883

    But i have to make one part in the spindle A from the bar and on the second spindle i have a support with screw, so i have to move the second spindle to the piece

    And put a screw

    I want use in the spindle A and spindle B an M110 code... for perfect synchronization, put the screw, restart

    But if i have M110 code in G140, i can't put M110 code in G141 (i can only if i change prossimity position)

    Any idea for have all two spindle in M110?

    That is the problem!

    Thank you so much to all

    hy andy try this program :
    G140
    M110
    G00 C30
    VCPPH=90
    M892

    maybe it works if not, pls share an image with your setup, maybe something can be done without c axis / kindly

    M110 synchronization on both spindles requires special software specification from Okuma and is an option. M151 is as accurate as M110. The same encoders are used. You should be able to perform the M151 then go to a M0 install your screw and then cycle start all while the M151 is active. M151 is perfect synchronization and can be adjusted by parameter for alignment position. It can start, stop, reverse, use M1 or M0, go into mid-auto-manual, jog spindles manually, and go back to auto and cycle start all without losing the M151. Nobody in the industry does it as well.

    Will this work for what you are trying to accomplish?

    hello M697 allows transfer accuracy equivalent to c axis, otherwise accuracy decreases with rpm, yet it is still ok for most operations on normal lathes

    gang lathes, being able to rev higher, have more phase error; citizen has an interlock for that / kindly

    hy mr wizard if you wish, pls check attached : manual says 0.1degres at 1000rpm ( and maybe proportionally for each 1000rpm more ), and that's <0.09 on the circumference of a part of 100 diameter

    it should be enough for most transfer applications, it's a lathe after all

    M151 of course work amazing, but M151 want A spindle close and B spindle OPEN

    So i have to move the prossimity for work with M151 in this situation...

    M696 don't work

    Ah… but there is a special system parameter VCHIO which can be used to change from OD to ID chucking thus faking out chuck open interlock.

    Should do the trick for you.

    Best regards,

    VCHIO=0
    M151
    VCHIO=1

    hy on p300, use M883 M151 M210 instead of vchio; pls share more infos, if you need to keep spindle phasing, so to see a work arround

    M696/697 is spec, not default / kindly

    nothing, if all two chuck are closed don't work. Only if B chuck is open that work.

    Need to try some different... or i try to send photo for better explication, bad english here

    Re: Okuma twin spindle - Synchronization - G140 G141 M110

    Recap

    LB300-M with OSP-U100L, work

    LB3000 EXII with OSP-P300L, alarm "2203-01 Alarm-B"

    Multus U3000 with OSP-P300SA, alarm "2203-01 Alarm-B"

    Alarm is like "system variable non registered", "use other variable"

    I don't know how to "open" this variable on OSP300...

    Maybe european version can't change this for security?

    I have M185 option so i don't know why don't work VCHIO on OSP300

    Re: Okuma twin spindle - Synchronization - G140 G141 M110

    hello on p300 is only possible to read vchio, not also to write it, thus is not possible to use = after vchio

    there is a key on the panel for od/id chucking selection; if "vchio=" would work, then this could leave to a conflict, unless an interlock is used

    my guess is that on controls where "vchio=" works, chucking selection is being set from display only

    I have M185 option so i don't know why don't work VCHIO on OSP300
    M185 and VCHIO are separate things

    Need to try some different... or i try to send photo for better explication
    just share something

    Can I ask from very beginning?
    You want to transfer the workpiece from A spindle to the B spindle. You don't use the chuck on the B spindle, you use the screw instead. Since you don't need a detection of missclamp on the B spindle, you can adjust the drawtube and limit sensors the way that the draw tube will not move on open command.

    Did the M883 work for you? I think the VCHIO was discontinued due to the M883 being added.
