control rotating indexing table with 3PH motor

Hi all, how do i control stop and go function of the rotating indexing cam table that includes the 3PH motor with brake with VFD.

Can I program the motor to brake once it reach the position without stopping the frequency speed of motor.
Will this cause the motor or VFD to heats up?

Or should I brake and stop the VFD upon position, and release brake and start VFD to move to next position.
But this method will have a slow start up..

    Thanks

This is the proper way to do it. You can most likely set the acceleration to 0.1 second, almost instantaneous.

The better method would be to control the rotary with a servo motor rather than a 3 phase motor and a VFD.
