    Ser engraving question

    Hi All.

Long time reader, not often poster.

Were running a project where we want to engrave 4 places in a fixture
    say 0001

Than making the next part engrave 0002 in 4 places.

The run over time will number in the thousands so going to the line and replacing the text after the ( would be a drag.

Search and replace does not recomend the comments so that seems out.

Any of you rocket Science types have a plan?

I am suspecting a Macro may accomplish this but have not had the pleasure.

    the machine is a 2002 3016 with 4th axis.
    we also have a VMC 20 and 30 20 with a Seimens 840d.

need to run this in the 4th axis machine.

    any help appreciated

serializing is part of the L92 canned cycle.

if you want to engrave "0001" 4 times then on the next part engrave "0002" 4 times all you have to do is use 4 seperate L92 cycles and all would cycle the number at rewind for the next part.
i don't have a manual close but i think it's the R+4 in the line that sets serialization
