    groove in a cylinder

    Need help guys.
    Can somebody tell me how to put a groove in a cylinder.
    Its basically a hockey puck looking part with a groove in it.
    3.5" dia x 1.312 long cylinder with a groove .250 wide and .125 deep or to 3.25 dia.
    Also its located .438 from an edge.
    Thanks for any help, I've looked on youtube but all the vids I found didn't help me.

    a ring with groove dimentions and boolean union.

    Revolve the profile of the groove if it's a true cylinder, Sweep if it's more organic.
