    Spindle motor wiring diagram

I have a spindle motor with the following motor tag. I'll be using the rating in the box - 230v @ 50 hz.

    Attachment 473540

The diagram from the cover showing how to jump the leads; seems simple enough.

    Attachment 473542

Here's where I'm confused. Both the motor on the machine and the spare that came with it are wired like this.

    Attachment 473544

Obviously it's easy enough to change the jumpers around but neither motor is wired to match either of those two diagrams. If they were wired for high voltage the power should be coming in on the UVW-1 side and the UVW-2 should have the jumpers but as they are, it's reversed. Both motors had those covers and they were both the same. Should I shrug it off, wire it up the way I need it and move on with life or does this hint at a concern I should have?

on the label of your motor 230VAC is for delta (triangle) connection. Means, you need to connect jumpers "three in parallel" way, as drawn in framed picture.
The motor connection on the last bottom illustration is "star", ( opposite to "delta" ). "Star" connection used by default everywhere because windings are connected in series in regards to applied voltage - less chances of overcurrent.

IOW, The method of using either the U2 V2 W2 or U1 V1 W1 for the straps will be identical electrically.
