I am in the process of starting a small puzzle making business. These are mechanical discovery or ball maze type puzzles made out of aluminum or wood. Expected tolerance is loose slip fit. I have built and worn out a cnc mini mill so I am very comfortable with metal working, electronics, and Linuxcnc / Fusion360.

With that out of the way I am thinking the 2x3 Benchtop pro fits my needs. I am assuming the short gantry and ball screw drives will give me decent rigidity. The bed size is bigger than I need for the current intended parts and large enough for the biggest stuff I imagine doing. I'm planning on avids nema 23 kit because they recommend that size. Control will be Mesa card with LinuxCNC.

I want ATC so the spindle of choice appears to be CNCdepot's s30C.

I know from videos it will cut aluminum the way I want. Will it last doing so?
