Swapping out F/O/R changeover switch with new style

I need help with my wiring on this Cj0618 mini lathe . The forward / off / reverse switch became too worn and starting giving me issues so I decided to change it out with the type that comes on a grizzly mini lathe ,the only issue ...well there are several but the main issue is the style I am wanting to go with is an adiele from Amazon part number LW28-20/3 12 terminal 3 position. The old switch was a E-TEN403 switch pictures attached . I tried to take 1 wire off at a time and mount it on the new switch but the switches are made different the new switch pinout is in position 1 ...1-2 , 5-6,9-10 and in position 2 .....3-4,7-8,11-12...The old E-ten403 switch was position 1....1-2,4-5,7-8,10-11 position 2 is 2-3,5-6,8-9,11-12.. I have notes of where each wire went to the old switch I just can't wrap my head around it . Has someone done this before meaning change out the old style switch with the newer style ??maybe the pictures will help
