Hello to Everybody,
pardon in advance for my English, I am from Italy.
I have had a little mill (Sieg X2) some little lathes Sieg and a chinese 6040 cnc router , I have done some little works on soft materials for understand something of the milling and turning.
Recently I bought a 6040 chinese cnc router, a bargain for the price, not without defect.
In particular by pressing with the hand on the spindle I see that the XZ group flexes by about 0.5 mm but I could not understand if the cause is due to the round bars of the X axis or to the frailty of the Z axis bars or to the thinness of the Z axis structure. It could be a combination of causes so before making modifies and spending money I prefer to reason about the various kind of linear rails before making a new machine.
I am now thinking about a little machine similar to 6040 cheap but reasonable precise, an hobby machine but rigid as much as possible to use on aluminium with light passes but in stability. The original 6040 is not so bad but need very and very light final passes not to leave marks in the workmanship.
In my hobby experience I have used:
-Hiwin linear rails: a very good product for money but not so cheap for 3 or 4 axis
-Sbr linear guides.some works well, other not so well, I don't know the brand and I never used for cnc router but for little wood support
-Round shaft with round linear bushing, I don't know the brand; also these ones used for not precise jobs.
Now, I would like to ask if, in Your experience, are there
-some SBR-TBR
-some chinese linear profiled linear rails similar to Hiwin
that can be interesting in term of cost/performance to build a cnc hobby router or if , in order to have a decent cnc router , the minimum to buy are profiled linear rails from Hiwin or better brands such as Thk, Bosch or others?
Are there chinese brands that can be an alternative.
Also I would like to ask, from Your experience, if SBR style are really rigid in any position (XYZ, both orizontal or perpendicular es. Z) or, as for round bearings, there is some flexion.
If you have cheap brands for ball scrrew, linear rails and mechanical parts to build a cnc router I am grateful.
Thank You for reading
Kind Regards,
Graziano
