I know nothing about CNC machines, but my father got an older Fanuc Supermax milling machine (unknown model at the moment but operation manuel says YCM-VMC-72A) from 1988, where after startup it just shows the same line over and over again, which is only supposed to be on the first line at the top.

The machine however is operationel, but it's impossible to see whats happening on the screen. (see attachment)

The message : Operation Message can sometimes change to Alarm Message, but again, everything seems to work.

Can anyone point us in the right direction what this could indicate ?

Maybe try playing with the pots on the back of the tube. It's been a while, but VHOLD or VSYNC. Maybe the flyback transformer is going out? I've never replaced one, so that's as much as I know.

It was one of the prints next to the monitor that had a defect. Replaced it and now it works again.
