Very late to the party. I've been playing around with a Raspberry Pi4 running LinuxCNC with a MESA 7i92H and a couple of far east Break Out Boards. Not happy with the gmoccapy interface for the 10.1" 1280x800 touch screen.
Found this thread on setting up the Tormach interface.

What are the thoughts on putting the Tormach files and paths listed in that tormach_mill_base.ini file onto the Pi4 and running LinuxCNC with that user interface?

I don't have any problems setting up a different pin file for the 7i92H if needed. Or moving HAL pins around to suit my hardware.

Where would I find the files needed for that Tormach user interface?

If you don't have a Tormach machine, why bother?
Download my image for the Pi 4B/400. It runs Debian 12 and is discussed on the linuxcnc forum here https://forum.linuxcnc.org/9-install...erry-pi-4b-400
Have a good look at QTdragon GUI which is covered in the Linuxcnc online docs. It way better than Gmocappy.
Why get tangled up with a GUI that looks for custom hardware and software? It will weigh your journey down.

Thanks very much for sharing. That looks interesting. Does the Pi have to be a 4B/400 or can a 4B be used?

I had a look a the Dragon GUI. It is too busy for my liking as are most CNC interfaces, whether linuxCNC, Mach3/4 or others.
It the primary reason I use PathPilot. It is clean, intuitive and has a workflow built in.
The probing and tool setting workflow is impressive. I haven’t seen it done anywhere else.
Yes, PathPilot was a pain to initially setup and a pain when upgrading but is a pleasure to use. It would be great to have a turnkey solution.

I’m keen to have a look at the Pi and Dragon GUI and see if it can be modified more to my liking. It says it is compatible for use with a touch screen, but the buttons look too small for my fat fingers.
