Question 18i-TA plc inputs lost on a Mori seiki SL300

    Hi
Have anyone an idea why the first inputs from X0.x to X3.7 is lost from X4.0 they works . The first 0.0 to 3.7 is going directly to the PLC card and the others goes trough I/O modules .
have tried to exchange the PLC ( which also have the spindle monitor) A03B-0814-B101, but no change

    Are there any error messages?
You might have a short circuit on one of the inputs from x0.0 to x3.7 that is dragging the whole group down. Try disconnecting them byte by byte

The 18i-A has several I/O types available. What is the specific I/O unit you are working with. Depending on the unit there could be internal fusing or jumpers that select sinking or sourcing.
Reference the OEM prints and see if its possible a common or source voltage wire has come loose for those inputs and the I/O device the connect to.

Its also possible that a short damaged the unit those inputs are on.

Have found that this I/O s is not shown on the PMC , you can only see them directly wit a special fanuc reader connected to the PLC directly. However the problem was not the card and it was bad contact in the plugs to the safety module + defective nc contact on the KM1
