    Reference position resetting - FANUC 10M

    Hello, I had a problem with the pulse coder of drive for axle X, so my coordinates changed. Now I can't pass reference position, I change the soft limits to be able to move over the sensor, but machine just over travel. What's the procedure for initialize the reference position?

    Does the axis slow down when it sees the sensor?
    If it doesn't check the sensor,
    I dont recall if the 10 series has the 090 alarm or not. So if the axis does slow down while on the sensor then it could be the Z channel of the encoder or a bad wire. The Z channel is not checked as part of disconnect alarms.

    Normal home operation;
    Home mode selection (manual)
    Axis moves towards the deceleration dog and looks for the reference mark 1 time.
    Once reference mark is seen electronic grid is established.
    Axis continues towards deceleration dog.
    Axis hits deceleration dog and slows.
    Axis moves off back side of dog and stops at the next electronic grid.
    Home position established.

    can you check if the machine has linear scales installed?

    You need to boot up into IPL screen and it should say check limit switches at power on and hit yes and then end and allow power up -this makes the machine check for the switches to create home -----------You have to do this or machine will not reference correct ------Newer machines than your have different methods so unless its a 10/11 or earlier not the same

    Thank you for the answers, after couple of attempts, when homing, axis is slowing over the sensor and continue to move about 10mm away from hardware limit and finally homing, after played with the soft limit.
    I don't know how to check for the linear scales?

    The problem at first is that the axle X is not moving smooth, but instead as steps with difficulty, and when going with higher speed is most noticeable, and this alarm is showing:
    SV-015 Pulse Coder Disconnect.
    I think I should change the pulse coder, or try to swap it with another axis, before buying a new one.
