Disabling PDB door interlock on PCNC1100

    Hi guys,
My PCNC1100 Series II is having an issue where the VFD turns off during a high-vibration cut. I can restart the spindle motor as if nothing happened.

After some research, people here say this is caused by a mechanical relay on the PDB board that vibrates to the "open" position, and tells the VFD that the spindle motor door has been opened.

I would like to disable or bypass this feature to test it.

Is it as simple as unplugging the 4th RJ11 connector that goes to the VFD?

    Thank you

Tried to send a reply to your PM but was blocked saying you weren't accepting them. Will try again.

After doing some experimenting, I found that the instructions from Tormach did something different.

The 4th RJ11 from the VFD is an INPUT to the PDB board. Meaning, when the spindle is still moving, the PDB cannot actuate. That's to prevent the PDB cylinder from rubbing against the top of the drawbar.

The door switch interlock (pair of blue wires next to the power input) are OUTPUTs to the VFD. This prevents the VFD from starting as long as the PDB is actuated.

Based on my research, it appears that shorting those 2 blue wires together will bypass this interlock. The ideal fix would be the new board with transistor instead of mech relay so I have asked Tormach if they will sell me that board. I could take it apart myself and put a SSR but it would be easier not to.

The is what the PDB / ATC designer suggested trying to me years ago.
