rapid acceleration for a short time.

    hello

I need rapid acceleration for a short time.
Every 62.5 ms, the acceleration should be switched between forward and reverse directions.
Also, the required instantaneous RPM is 400 RPM.
In other words, every 62.5 ms, you need to switch 400 RPM forward and 400 RPM reverse.
Is it a viable story if the capacity is sufficient?
The inertia of the load can be reduced to test it.
If you think it is possible, please recommend a product.

    Hi,
the second of Newtons laws is 'force equals the time rate of change of momentum.'

If you wish to reverse the momentum of an object instantaneously that would require infinite force, which is clearly impossible.
The better way to describe the problem is that for a given momentum what force (force being analogous to torque) is required to reverse the momentum
in a given time. Then the only question is how much elapsed time is considered good enough for your application.

If you were to detail things like the momentum, ie mass and speed of the object to be reversed, the mechanical means of converting motor torque to
linear acceleration, say ballscrew, or rack and pinion we might be able to do some calculations that would tell you whether its possible or more prehaps feasible at a cost.

AC servos can do this, you have the problem of how much torque the motor will need to overcome the inertia, so you have to know what the inertia will be and then get an AC Servo motor that can handle the inertia, here is a good video of the DMM AC servos in action with different inertia loads
