I would appreciate it if someone could help me.

I operate a Morbidelli Author 430 TOP. Today, accidentally, while I was moving it manually on the X axis with no power on the motor I hit a vacuum pod with the horizontal drill. The vacuum pod broke but the issue it's not that. The problem is that after the collision it looks like I missed the calibration on the boring head unit. For example, I tried to do a hole on X:50 Y:50. On the Y axis it was ok but on the X axis it missed approx. 7mm and made the hole on 43mm. The same happened when I tried the 32mm system drills. When the collision happened It showed an error on the screen (not the Machine emergency) but I missed it. I tried to find it on the Alarms' list but because I restart the machine it disappeared so I don't know what this Alarm was. Do you believe it is something fixable and I didn't really screw it up?

Sounds like you might need to re-zero your machine or maybe just the tool.

It's not only one tool. All the tools of the boring unit have been affected. Do you know how can I fix it?

Is the main spindle 7mm off as well? If the usual recalibration does not help, most likely the X axis belt has jumped a tooth. You can fix it either the hardware way (moving the belt on the pulley), or the software way (changing the calibration point in the machine settings).

No, the main spindle router works fine. Only the boring unit has been affected. Is this an easy fix, can I do it on my own, or do I need a specialist? I didn't do the first setup of the machine so I never tried to do something similar.

Then we can scratch off the skipped belt theory. I guess the impact has moved the boring unit - check if you can see any signs of that, such as old bolt head marks.

It's hard to answer without seeing the machine or knowing your mechanical/computer skills.

I would take a look at the boring unit to see if it has indeed moved after the impact. If it did, you would need to loosen the bolts and align it vertically/horizontally. Then fine tune the boring unit offset in the settings.

I don't know if Author 430 software is the same as Author 330. If it is, the boring unit offset would be in Machine parameters - Operating heads - Head 3.

Thank you for the time and effort you put toward helping me. Of course, it would be easier if you could see the machine. The software probable is the same, at least the panel it's the same. I'm on the calibration tab but it requires a password,

Try "xilog3". Make sure to write down the old numbers before changing any parameter.
