Just applied for a job with a company that has

one of these machines coming in.

Anybody have some experience on one? I manual program for the most part, or use MasterCam. This machine will be conversational programming. Never done it, but it didn't look hard to do from what I was shown tonight.

Can you make money with it on small jobs?

Edit: You were right. That link sucks. Tried copying it a 2nd time with same results. It is a Mazak Integrex 300-IV ST.

Do a search for Mazak 9-axis lathe, and it should be the 1st link below the advertisement for Premier Equipment. Least it was for me both times I did the search.

Please give the model and make of the machine. The link you gave goes nowhere.

    No problem with Mastercam

If the machine is a single turret. The double turret machine is a bit of a bear but not to bad. You will want to make sure they have a good post for the machine. If they do not have a good post for the machine your life is going to be very hard and getting good programs will be a pain. Also you do not use the Conversational side when programing with Mastercam you use the .eia side or g-code side of the machine. You will want to make sure all of the parameters are set-up correctly.

Not on small jobs, you need larger runs or extremely complex parts to make it worth its money.
