I have same problem...or two problems...I think.
This is what I have :

But is AIR cooled not water cooled.

First problem is that I cannot get spindle controled by mach3 trough controller card (bitsensor) no matter what I tried. Now the spindle is controled by VFD panel buttons.

Second problem is that although I managed to run spindle (from VFD panel buttons), after 30-40 minutes of running is geting very hot (cannot keep fingers on spindle for more that 5 seconds (I don`t have a thermometer...)
Is normal that air cooled spindle to run that hot ?...or how hotter this kind of spindle will be when is running.
In spindle connection manual the connection plug is wrongly drawn. I use a multimeter to see which is motor coil and I get 3 pins with continuity between them and the forth pin is free without any connection (not ground, I tried to measure if is connexion between this and motor case but is not).
I think the settings of that VFD is the problem but not shure.
I use this spindle to carve styrofoam (polystyrene)
