I have an opportunity to purchase a used Hercus V300 mill - without electronics - in good condition.
I found an old discussion from 2010 but it did not discuss user milling experiences.
I would like to know if there any owners on the forum who might be able to share the kinds of tolerances such a mill could be expected to hold (understanding there are many factors involved in this). They seem like solid machines for their size and age, and they use lead screws/satellite rollers from Rollvis in Switzerland. I also would like to know if milling mild steel would be possibe with a Hercus V300.

I would be adding a controller (Centroid/Masso?etc) and Gecko 320X drives or similar as some others have done to get it running should I decide to purchase.

I appreciate any insights that people are able and willing to share.

Tom
